Leptospermum scoparium, also known as New Zealand Tea Tree or Manuka, is known to for its unique properties.  Bees harvest nectar from the Manuka tree to produce a honey that contains unique plant phenols naturally present at varying levels. This honey has been used as food and as a supplement.
